RESTAURANTS • First Word

The Skinny: When it opened in December, Sohn had a line down its Dogpatch block. The Korean cafe from Sunday Bakeshop’s Deuki Hong and Janet Lee quickly became a lunchtime favorite for local workers by design: its founders deny claims that Sohn is a restaurant, and insist that it’s a “community gathering place” instead. But the popular menu of savory mains (as well as the dedicated lane for delivery app pickups) suggests otherwise. A few nights a week, the spot hosts workshops and events, such as a class on the traditional art of Minhwa and a sake brewing and tasting seminar.
