RESTAURANTS • Intel

→ HOG WILD: Ferry Building go-to Hog Island Oyster Co just opened a grab-and-go shop at its Tomales Bay farm. The General Store and Hog Shack offers live seafood (oysters, clams, mussels, catch of the day) for at-home preparation, as well as prepared takeout dishes like smoked black cod dip, poke bowls, and ceviches. Meats, cheeses, and housemade conservas are also on offer at the business, which is located inside the former Marshall Post Office. Daily 9a-5p, 20215 Shoreline Hwy (Marshall, CA), walk-ins only.

→ TACO TIME: Two East Bay taco favorites are making their SF debut: Mexico City-style shop Al Pastor Papi launched Sunday on O’Farrell St. (Union Square), while Dominic Prado’s Tacos El Ultimo Baile rolled out mesquite and oak-grilled meats at Saluhall (Mid-Market) last Saturday. Both businesses built a fanatical following at their Oakland storefronts, but citing the usual challenges, both shuttered those locations this year. With a downtown coming back to life, San Francisco might be the place these popular spots can regain their footing. –Eve Batey

Muffin man

Jamieson Leadbetter is a fourth-generation baker from Portland, Maine, where his family has been in the baked goods business since 1931. He had a wholesale business from 2009 to 2015, selling his family-recipe English muffins to Bi-Rite Markets, Rainbow Grocery, and Whole Foods. Now he’s back with, Leadbetter’s Bake Shop, a golden-brown Castro storefront that launched expanded hours this week after previewing in June.
